Fernley can take care of the golfers in the family. The Golf Club at Fernley is a premier 18 hole golf course featuring such holes as the "Sidewinder" and the "Smoking Gun".
Fernley is once again only 30 minutes from Reno or Carson City, both meccas for golf that include such courses as the spectacular Montreux Golf Course, a new stop on the PGA Tour. This area sports over 40 golf courses.

 Camping/Hiking/Horseback Riding/Mountain Biking/Winter Sports

Fernley sits in the middle of BLM land encompassing over 85% of the land in Nevada. Feel free to head out into the "wilds" and pick your spot or pick one of the many improved campgrounds located at all of the above lakes and river areas. Hike through the deserts or change the scenery by heading to the mountains and the Ponderosa pines. Get on your horse and you are still only minutes away from the same sights that the pioneers saw when they first crossed this area on their way to the California gold fields. Don't forget Lake Tahoe - The Gem of the Sierras with fishing, boating, sightseeing, and hiking. Northern Nevada, with over 15 Ski Resorts in the Tahoe Basin alone, sports some of the finest skiing in the country. Try your hand at some powder or maybe see the scenery with a little cross-country skiing. Snow mobiling, snow boarding, snow shoeing - it's all close to Fernley.

 BIRD WATCHING

You can also include a little bird watching as Fernley lies on one of the great migratory bird routes in the U.S.
